Voluntary Sector

Minimize

The voluntary sector contributes enormously to the social and economic capital of New Zealand. A 2004 survey indicated 270 million hours of formal, unpaid work given to non-profit organisations annually. That gift of time was valued at almost $3.31 billion. (source: www.volunteeringnz.org.nz)

Take away the volunteers and many essential programmes would cease. Yet involving volunteers is both a privilege and a challenge. Volunteers deserve the best possible leadership and support, to honour their commitment and contribution.

With 20 years background in the voluntary sector, Jenny continues regularly to partner with Volunteering Waikato and other community organisations to deliver training and support for coordinators of volunteer programmes. She also facilitates strategic planning and provides training for Boards & Committees.

Jenny has been the perfect choice of trainer for us – her previous experience in the community sector, her work with volunteers and her training style make her a great fit.
~ Heather Moore, General Manager, Volunteering Waikato

We contracted Jenny to facilitate a regional tripartite meeting, with representatives from government, ngos and refugee communities. Her facilitation was exceptional and enabled the day to run smoothly and successfully. She recognised the unique complexities of the group, coordinated necessary timetable changes, handled disputes efficiently, while remaining professional and effective. Evaluations from participants were consistent in their praise for her facilitation.                ~ Rachel O'Connor, Hamilton Coordinator, Refugee Services Aotearoa New Zealand
