Having attended a number of Jenny’s cross-cultural communication sessions, my team was stimulated by what they had come away with. Chatting over coffee we agreed that some further discussions would be both informative and fun, and give us a good opportunity to explore more deeply some of the cross-cultural issues we face as a diverse community organisation. Jenny Magee developed a series of informal workshops and one-on-one sessions with me, which were a completely open dialogue. Effective facilitation meant every minute was productive and beneficial. The team learning was immediate and pronounced, and the sessions served as a positive team building experience. I recommend Jenny Magee for any community organisation or business wishing to develop awareness of, empathy with, and confidence in dealing with our diverse communities.

Jenny Magee spoke to our group about diversity and being willing to better understand our communication styles across cultures in the workplace, and she was truly inspiring. Her presentation was very engaging, thought provoking and packed with great humour. I highly recommend her as a speaker who could potentially change the way we do business in a culturally diverse world! Waikato Sunrise Rotary
Jenny Magee has presented ‘Cultural Perspectives’ workshops for English Language Partners Waikato and other organisations working with new migrants. These presentations are co-presented with an informant from each community and are colourful, multi-sensory and interactive. Jenny brings a fresh perspective to workshops which engage participants from the first minute until the end of the experience. As well as taking away many ideas to think about attendees leave with an excellent work book.
English Language Partners Waikato enthusiastically endorses ‘Cultural Perspectives’. These workshops are contributing to our understandings as we establish partnerships with new individuals and communities living in the Waikato.

Volunteering Waikato has engaged Jenny Magee as our primary trainer to deliver a range of workshops in the area of Volunteer Management. Jenny has been the perfect choice of trainer for us – her previous experience in the Community Sector, her work with volunteers and her training style make her a great fit. The feedback from Jenny’s training workshops is consistently high – and continued good attendance proves to us that participants enjoy her training style and methods. We would recommend Jenny highly, and we look forward to continuing to engage her to deliver our training workshops.

As a manager with 1,200 volunteers throughout the Waikato, I needed to stay on the cutting edge of developing processes and procedures to recruit, retain, communicate with and appreciate these people. Our volunteers come from a range of age groups, backgrounds, races and cultures. It is imperative to the success of our programme that my teams are trained up in how to work within these differences. Jenny’s knowledge and years of experience have given me great insight into how to implement better systems and build better teams so that we function better in this area. Her “Platinum Rule” has become vital to our continued success: “Treat others as they want to be treated!”

Jenny Magee has had a close working relationship with Age Concern Hamilton since 2003. She was instrumental in implementing a new training resource called ‘Don’t Wait til You’re Eighty Matey’. This was designed as a lifelong learning tool to encourage older people to embrace positive ageing. At the time this resource was very innovative and challenging but Jenny delivered the training in such a professional and appropriate way that it soon became one of the ‘must attend’ sessions.
Over the years Jenny adapted the content of this resource to continually stimulate and extend the thinking of the older people who attended the monthly session and I can genuinely attest that attitudes, values and beliefs became stronger and more positive as a result. Jenny is one of the most skilled, experienced and personable trainers I have had the pleasure of working with and I consider Age Concern to be fortunate indeed to have had the benefit of those skills for the past six years. Our older people have enjoyed the challenges presented to them, the journeys they have led to and the benefits of sharing new skills. As one member told me “Jenny has literally changed my life”.
I highly recommend Jenny Magee to anyone who wants a skilled facilitator and experienced trainer for their organisation.
