Half day workshop for staff who are recent migrants
Choosing to live and work in another country is a major step. Exciting and enriching, there can also be challenges in managing the daily differences of life experienced at home and at work.
The realities of settling into a new life in New Zealand include understanding “the way we do things around here”.
The workshop will cover:
- Importance and influence of culture
- Stages of culture shock
- Key areas of difference between own & New Zealand culture
- New Zealand values, customs, etiquette and communication styles - verbal and non-verbal
- Four-step model to deal with cross cultural misunderstandings

After 18 months of frustration, we were about to pack up and go home. You’ve helped me see a way to stay and understand this new culture.
